Supporting female entrepreneurs

The Female Founders Forum is a joint initiative established by Barclays and The Entrepreneurs Network (TEN) in 2016, bringing together the UK’s most prominent and successful businesswomen to collectively tackle obstacles to female enterprise.

Supported by Barclays' High Growth and Entrepreneurs Team, which offers a bespoke service for successful entrepreneurs who are looking to grow and scale their business.

The Forum has published a number of reports looking at the policy and business challenges that are unique to female enterprise – in 2016/17, Untapped Unicorns addressed the finance gap facing female led businesses. In 2017/18, we launched a nationwide programme of ‘speed-mentoring’ events, linking up aspirant female entrepreneurs with experienced business leaders, passing on their advice, encouragement and practical support. The Forum published Mentoring Matters in Spring 2018, capturing the practical lessons learned from these sessions.

For 2018/19, we are pleased to announce our third year of enterprise thought leadership, with our project Women Rising. This programme will visit locations around the UK, providing interactive roundtable discussions, focusing on successful pitching, leadership in a crisis, and creating a company culture.
