Backing the UK

Barclays is a British universal bank. We are proud of our history and the deep roots which make us part of the fabric of the UK.

We are fully committed to supporting the millions of customers and clients who put their trust in us, every day. We work hard to make a positive difference to the communities where we live and work.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has brought in to sharp focus why we need to continue to challenge ourselves every day. We aim to identify ways we can help alleviate the social and economic impact of this crisis in our home market.

We are also working with the UK Government and our partners to deliver programmes to help businesses, who are the lifeblood of the UK, to weather the storm and prepare for recovery in its aftermath.

Rebuilding Thriving Local Economies

Barclays is partnering with four pilot local economies across the UK. Working with these communities we are identifying ways that we can provide support over and above what we do every day as a bank, to address the social and economic challenges caused by the pandemic.
