Barclaycard

Which part of Barclays will I be in?
 

Barclaycard Personal within the UK

All personal credit card and bPay customers of Barclays Bank PLC, whose accounts are held in the UK, will be transferred to our new ring-fenced bank.

Barclaycard Business within the UK and non UK Barclaycard Personal Customers

All other Barclaycard customers and clients of the Barclays group will continue to be served by their existing entity. This includes:

  • Any Barclaycard Germany and Barclaycard US customers
  • Corporate credit card and payment processing customers and clients (including clients of The Logic Group, all business clients with a Barclaycard Commercial credit/charge card and any customer with a Barclaycard Payment Solution product)
  • Any customer or client of Barclays Partner Finance 

How does this affect me if I’m not transferring to the ring-fenced bank?

For the majority of customers that are not transferring into the new ring-fenced bank there should not be any changes to your banking arrangements.

If we do need to change any of our payment details, we'll be in touch to let you know.

How does this affect me if I am transferring to the ring-fenced bank?

The only change that you should notice is that the legal entity which provides your credit card or bPay account will change.

We’ll need to update your Terms and Conditions to reflect this. You’ll still be able to use your Barclaycard credit card or bPay account (and the features of your account) as normal.

Our UK payment details won’t change, so you should carry on making any monthly payments as normal. If you pay by Direct Debit, we’ll make sure your payment is processed as normal.

  • Certain Terms and Conditions will need to change, principally to ensure that our customer and client contractual relationships continue to work in light of our new structure, and to comply with ring-fencing requirements. An example of this is changing references in customer and client agreements from BBPLC to the new name of our ring-fenced bank.

Barclaycard Personal

  • Will these changes mean I get a new Barclaycard?

    No, these changes don’t mean you’ll need a new Barclaycard. You can carry on using your existing card as normal.

    Will the rates I get on my Barclaycard products change because of this?

    We continue to offer products on the basis set out in pricing terms for your existing products. These should not affect your rates.

    Will my statements look any different?

    Your statements will look the same. However, after the change has taken place, the name of the new ring-fenced bank will appear on statements.

    Can I still see transactions from before?

    Yes, your account is not changing so you’ll be able to view transactions and statements in the same way that you can now.

    Will my statement preferences change as a result of this change?

    No, your statement preferences (for example, frequency, online/paper format) won’t be affected.

    Do the details I use to pay you change?

    No, Barclaycard’s payment details will remain the same.

    Can I still use my Barclaycard to identify myself?

    Yes, you’ll continue to use your card as you do today.

  • Are there any changes to my account features and rewards?

    No. Your account will retain any existing features or rewards associated with it.

    Will access to Barclaycard online servicing differ in the ring-fenced bank?

    No, there’ll be no change to the way you access Barclaycard online servicing.

    Will access to the Barclaycard Mobile app differ in the ring-fenced bank?

    No, there’ll be no change to the way you access the Barclaycard Mobile app. You’ll continue to be registered and can use the same five digit access code.

    Do I need to update my information on ‘Apple Pay’?

    No, your information won’t need updating.

    Do I need to update my details if I use Contactless Mobile on Android phone?

    No, your information won’t need updating.

    Can I still use Chip and Pin following the entity change?

    Yes, you’ll continue to use your card as you do today.

Barclaycard Business

  • Will my relationship with Barclays Partner Finance change?        

    Your relationship with us will not change. Your Barclays Partner Finance loan will continue to be serviced by Barclays Partner Finance (a trading name of Clydesdale Financial Service Limited) which will remain part of Barclays Bank PLC.

    Will my loan repayments change?          

    No, your loan repayments will not change and you should continue to make your repayments on the same dates.

    Will Barclays Partner Finance’s payment details be changing?    

    If we do need to change our payment details, we'll be in touch to let you know.  But there will not be any changes to your loan repayment amount or your repayment dates.

    Will ring-fencing mean that my loan terms and conditions will be changing?             

    No, ring-fencing will not be changing your terms and conditions.

  • Will my relationship with Barclaycard change?   

    Your relationship with Barclaycard will not change as a result of ring-fencing.  We will continue to provide you with the same services that we do today.

    Will ring-fencing change the rates I get on my Barclaycard products?      

    No. Ring-fencing won't affect your rates. We'll carry on offering you products with the same pricing terms.

    Will ring-fencing change my current contractual terms? 

    No.  Ring-fencing will not affect your contractual terms.

    Will I need to be issued with a new Barclaycard commercial card?           

    No, you won’t need a new Barclaycard commercial card because of ring-fencing. You and/or your staff can carry on using your existing cards as normal.

    Can I still use Chip and Pin?        

    Yes, you can continue to use your card as you do today.

    Will statement preferences change?      

    No.  Statement preferences (for example, frequency, online/paper format) won’t be affected by ring-fencing.

    Will ring-fencing result in changes to any account features or rewards?  

    No.  All accounts will retain any existing features or rewards associated with them.

    Will Barclaycard’s payment details be changing?

    If we do need to change our payment details, we'll be in touch to let you know.

  • Will my relationship with Barclaycard change?   

    Your relationship with Barclaycard will not change as a result of ring-fencing.  We will continue to provide you with the same services that we do today.

    Will ring-fencing change the fees you charge?    

    No. Fees for transactions and terminal rental etc will not change as a result of ring-fencing.

    Will Barclaycard’s payment details be changing?

    If we do need to change our payment details, we'll be in touch to let you know.

    Will your services be affected by ring-fencing?    

    No.  The payment solution services provided by Barclaycard will be the same as they are today.
