Position: Customer Service Advisor, Call Centre

Some of the big things that Barclays is trying to achieve include identifying trends to provide a better service for our customers. I work in the mortgage services contact centre; our core function is to provide great service to our mortgage customers, solicitors and brokers. As a global bank, we need to provide mortgage products and services that exceed those of our competitors.

I have the knowledge and support to answer calls, escalate any that I need to, and go the extra mile to make sure any additional customer needs are met. On a typical day, I support and help frontline agents making calls, from taking over any escalated calls that are hard to resolve to providing side-by-side coaching for teams.

I joined Barclays in 2006 and worked as a contact centre agent and worked my way up slowly to become a senior agent. I’m currently shadowing a team leader and hoping to become one in the next six months to a year.
