Many of our roles are highly specialised: it takes a lot of different skills sets to run a bank effectively. Enabling functions colleagues not only apply their technical and business expertise to our organisation, but also explain it to others across the business and external stakeholders. They have the knowledge to help us understand the implications of everything from basic customer transactions to multi-jurisdiction mergers and acquisitions.

    What we do

    Our corporate relations team manages both internal and external communications, keeping many different audiences up to date with our news and our plans for the future. They help us to build and maintain positive relationships with local communities, the media, the Government, and various independent and regulatory bodies.

  • Keep in touch with the market

    What we do

    We keep a close eye on share prices and analyst recommendations. We communicate with institutional investors, potential investors and stock markets across the world. We work closely with analysts to keep the market informed about how Barclays is performing, and make sure that what the market is saying about Barclays’ performance is in line with our own forecasts.

    We use our detailed knowledge of financial markets to produce quarterly trading updates, interim and preliminary results announcements and content for Barclays Annual Report. We collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to answer any questions they might have about the bank's financial performance. We also help our senior leaders to stay in touch with investment portfolio managers, institutional shareholders and investors.

    What we do

    Our 20,000 operations colleagues across 18 countries support millions of financial transactions.

    Our customers range from personal bank account holders to corporate and wealth clients. All of them look to us to create simple, standardised and scalable platforms that protect their assets and help them achieve their financial outcomes in a safe and controlled way. For example, our work with Barclays Investment Bank aims to give them a seamless experience, ensuring that trades get to the right client’s account at the right time.

    We work within a complex and ever-changing environment, and have an essential role in new market initiatives and dealing with regulatory changes. We aim to keep Barclays ahead of competitors in these areas, reducing costs and increasing revenue.
