Fans of American football are to benefit from a partnership between Barclaycard and the US National Football League (NFL) to market co-branded credit cards.

The cards, which carry the logos of the league and each of its 32 teams, will enable customers to earn points for every dollar spent. These can then be redeemed for game tickets and NFL-licensed merchandise.

Customers can apply for the credit cards from September online, at stadium displays, as well as through telephone applications and email and direct mail invitations.
