Sporting beat Tottenham Hotspur to the title on goal difference, even though Robbie Keane scored in both of Tottenham's matches to earn himself the title of Barclays Player of the Tournament.
The four-team tournament, which also featured local side New York Red Bulls along with Manchester City from the Barclays Premier League, was attended by around 60,000 fans and broadcast to a global audience of millions.
Barclays ran a wide range of promotional activities around the competition, its first football sponsorship in the US.
Highlights included thousands of fans having their photographs taken with the Barclays Premier League Trophy across all three days of the tournament, as well as extensive media coverage.
In addition, the tournament was also a topic of discussion across social media sites, including the Barclays Football facebook page and flickr.
