Barclays Capital has been named ‘Commodity and Energy Derivatives House of the Year’ and ‘Interest Rate Derivatives House of the Year’ by Risk magazine in its annual awards.
In addition, the firm also won awards for ‘In-House System of the Year’ for ARC (Advanced Repo Curves System) and Vladimir Piterbarg, Head of Quantitative Analytics, won ‘Quant of the Year’ for the second time.
Barclays Capital has won the commodities award three times in four years. Commenting on the award, Risk said: “…despite pressure from slow markets and tougher competition, [Barclays Capital] continues to win praise from clients for service and consistency.”
Risk has named Barclays Capital Interest Rate Derivatives House of the year twice in three years. Commenting on the award, Risk quoted clients as saying “the bank was the only one that has been able to fully deliver on the ambitious promises all dealers are making….Barclays Capital was exceptional. What differentiated them was the resources they threw at this at a very early stage.”
