Woolwich Mortgages from Barclays, part of UK Retail Banking (UKRB), has been named Best Remortgage Provider at the Moneynet Awards 2011.
The accolade recognises its Great Escape product, which is aimed at borrowers who have mortgages with other lenders and worry about the costs of switching to one with a better rate.
Great Escape involves no application fee and offers customers free legal work, valuation and a £300 cashback, which could go towards the cost of their exit fee for leaving their existing lender.
Andy Gray, Head of Mortgages at Barclays UKRB, said: “I am thrilled that Barclays has received this award.
“We have really focused on how we can help customers switch lenders and save money.
“Customers who have already chosen our Great Escape Remortgage have saved an average of £2,330 over two years. If you add all the customers together that is £12.2m over two years.”
Woolwich Mortgages from Barclays is launching a press advertising campaign this Sunday, 30 January to support Great Escape.
The advert will focus on how much customers could save if they switch from their existing lender’s standard variable rate to a Barclays Great Escape tracker or fixed rate remortgage package.
