The Women of the Year Lecture, sponsored by Barclays for the fourth year running as part of its diversity agenda, takes place today at the Royal Institute of Great Britain in London.
The lecture is to be given by Professor Nava Dekel, an expert on fertility and women’s reproduction. She will discuss her work on embryo implantation in IVF treatments and issues such as ethics in scientific research and the social pressures on women to reproduce.
Following the lecture, Baroness Helena Kennedy, President, Women of the Year, will moderate a panel discussion with a panel of guests including Professor Robert Winston, Professor of Science and Society and Emeritus Professor of Fertility Studies at the UK’s Imperial College; Rosie Boycott, journalist, social commentator, and an advisor to the Mayor of London on environment policy; and Julie Powell, journalist and Health Director, Good Housekeeping magazine.
To promote gender diversity, Barclays is also a sponsor of the Women of the Year Lunch, one of the UK’s most prestigious events promoting female role models.
