Barclays.com is the most effective corporate website from a financial services organisation, according to an influential new study.
The website is ranked 25th in the Financial Times Bowen Craggs Index of Corporate Web Effectiveness, an independent report which examines corporate websites from some of the world’s biggest businesses.
Barclays.com is the highest new entry in the 2011 index, winning acclaim for its clear content, visual design and the strength of its homepage.
The site has also achieved among the highest scores for serving shareholders and job seekers.
The index – recognised in the digital sector as a key benchmark of corporate website efficacy – is the most detailed study of its kind, supported by in-depth analysis and compiled by a panel of judges.
Among the criteria assessed are how well websites meet the needs of investors, journalists and customers. Scores also take into account use of social media and ease of navigation.
