Antony Jenkins, CEO, Barclays Global Retail Banking, today hosts the Barclays Armed Forces Day Conference at 1 Churchill Place in London.
The event aims to help former soldiers transition into life as civilians.
It will also highlight the work of Barclays Armed Forces Community Investment Project in helping individuals develop the skills required to gain long-term employment, making their transition back into civilian life as straightforward as possible.
Speakers from the UK Ministry of Defence’s Army Recovery Capability scheme are expected to discuss the challenges ex-service men and women continue to face as they seek civilian employment.
General Sir David Julian Richards, Chief of the Defence Staff, will also speak and answer questions at the end of the conference.
Representatives from more than 50 companies, including Barclays suppliers, are expected to attend the event.
The Barclays Armed Forces Day Conference is part of Barclays community investment programme, which last year invested £55.3m and the time and skills of more than 62,000 employees to support 1.5 million people in disadvantaged communities around the world.
