Barclays is sponsoring an evening event at the Science Museum in London tonight, entitled The Science of Climate Change.
The event is set to include a Barclays Cycle Hire roadshow and a special viewing of ‘The Plan’ – a film exploring the potential to address far-reaching and urgent sustainability issues.
The museum will also host a discussion on ‘The Long Finance Challenge of Climate Change’, led by Professor Michael Mainelli from Gresham College, London.
Other attractions will be a little quirkier. Visitors can see the world from a beetle’s point of view in a fancy-dress Cockroach Tour, or don their headphones and dance under a canopy of rockets in the museum’s Silent Disco, held in the Exploring Space gallery.
There will also be an opportunity to join in a pub quiz, speed dating sessions and a clothes recycling workshop.
The event forms part of Barclays sponsorship of the museum’s new Atmosphere gallery, which focuses on climate science.
The Science of Climate Change evening is part of the museum’s monthly ‘Lates’ series. On the last Wednesday of every month it stays open until 22:00 for adults to enjoy exhibitions, lectures and themed entertainment. The event will open at 18:45 on Wednesday, 29 June, at The Science Museum, Imperial College Road entrance, South Kensington, SW7 2DD.
