Barclays Corporate has been named Lender of the Year at the 2011 HealthInvestor Awards for the third consecutive year.
The event, organised in London by healthcare business magazine HealthInvestor, promotes excellence and recognises innovation in the healthcare sector.
It is considered as one of the most high-profile and prestigious events in the industry’s calendar.
Barclays Corporate’s win was determined by a judging panel which included Nick Bosanquet, Professor of Health Policy at Imperial College London; Mike Fry, former Chief Executive of Christie Hospital NHS Trust; Bob Ricketts, Director of Provider Policy, UK Department of Health; and Lord Hutton of Furness, former Cabinet Minister.
On receiving the award, Paul Birley, Head of Healthcare and Public Sector at Barclays Corporate, received the award and said: “We are delighted to receive this recognition, which is testament to the innovation and excellence demonstrated by Healthcare Relationship Directors and their support staff in the structuring and execution of deals for our clients.
“Our nomination also highlighted other ways in which we try to support the sector and its operators, and it's clear that these efforts are valued.”
Lloyds TSB, the Royal Bank of Scotland and Santander were also nominated in the Lender of the Year category.
