Barclays is named among the UK’s top 10 employers by Working Families, an organisation which promotes work-life balance.
In its annual benchmarking study, Working Families assessed nearly 90 private and public sector employers in the UK representing one million employees.
It recognised Barclays for policies and practices which help employees achieve work-life balance, including flexible working, maternity, paternity and adoption leave, as well as support for childcare.
Antony Jenkins, CEO, Barclays Retail and Business Banking and Chair of Barclays Diversity Group, said: “We are delighted to be rated as a top 10 employer by Working Families and that our efforts to support colleagues across Barclays have been recognised in this way.
“The award will spur us on as we strive to be an employer of choice – one which is inclusive and values diversity.”
This is the first time Barclays has been evaluated in the Working Families study.
Other employers ranked in the top 10 this year include consulting company Accenture, McDonald’s restaurants, West Mercia Police, energy company Centrica and the Southdown Housing Association.
The Working Families rankings were published in conjunction with National Work-Life Week, which started on Monday.
