Barclays graduate recruitment programmes have been recognised for their creative use of social media.

Retail and Business Banking’s Future Leaders Development Programme received the Grand Prix Judges’ Award at the UK’s Graduate Recruitment Social Media Awards, an event sponsored by graduate careers website Milkround.

The programme was commended for integrating social media, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and blogs, into its website. In addition, the campaign featured innovative initiatives such as Tweet Fridays, where prospective applicants can tweet the Barclays team and get instant replies.

Barclays Capital also won for its use of social media to engage candidates. The firm beat competitors such as HSBC, RBS and J.P. Morgan to win the Student Choice Award for the Finance sector.
