The free app enables retail banking customers in the country to stay on top of their money, wherever they are.
It gives them secure access to information on the balance and recent transactions on their accounts and Barclaycard, as well as the ability to transfer money and pay bills.
Customers can even locate the nearest ATM or branch with the app.
Sean Gilchrist, Managing Director of Digital Banking at UK Retail and Business Banking, said: “We are committed to continuously improving our customers’ engagement with Barclays and giving them a great digital experience.
“This app introduces features that make banking on the go much easier. We’re enabling customers to bank with us on their terms.
“Pingit has been a huge success in achieving that, and Barclays Mobile Banking app will continue that journey.”
The app is currently available for Android (new window) and iPhone (new window) users. A BlackBerry version will be available soon.
Barclays first introduced the Barclays Mobile Banking smartphone app in Spain in January, and more than 19,000 users downloaded the app within the first few weeks of launch.
