The organisation was a partner in the event series held at the Tate Modern museum in London to examine perspectives on global citizenship.
Maria Ramos, Group Chief Executive of Absa and Chief Executive of Barclays Africa, and Ashok Vaswani, Chief Executive of Retail and Business Banking, participated in the ‘Capital’ lecture which looked at what capital can do for society and the challenges of globalisation, especially for emerging economies.
Hans-Joerg Rudloff, Chairman of the Investment Bank, spoke at the ‘Lessons for G8 members’ session, discussing how G8 governments can work together with business and other stakeholders to boost equitable economic growth and prosperity.
Other topics discussed at the Zamyn Citizenship Forum included migration, the sustainable use of natural resources and responsible business practices.
To mark the end of the series, Group Chief Executive Antony Jenkins hosted a dinner with lecture panellists and clients to discuss global citizenship challenges and Barclays’ approach to these issues.
