Jack Thompson, aged 21, is the 1,000th apprentice – he is joining the Croydon branch in London where he will be training as a cashier.
“I have been in and out of work since finishing college doing mostly temporary jobs. You name it, I have done it,” said Jack. “I was always looking for something a bit more permanent but it is hard out there right now to find proper jobs, that have a real future to them.”
Jack will attend The Sun Employment Roadshow, an event which starts today and where Barclays will be showcasing job opportunities to young people who are looking for work.
Also attending the roadshow are Jameela Jamil, our LifeSkills ambassador and Raymond Pettitt, Managing Director, Telephony and sponsor of Barclays’ apprenticeship programme, where they will be taking part in a panel discussion on youth employment.
